Smithfield Market
Meat has been bought and sold at Smithfield on Charterhouse Street for more than eight hundred years, making it one of the oldest markets in London. Eighty-five thousand tones of produce pass through the market each year including meat, poultry, cheese, pies and savouries. The prices negotiated at Smithfield directly affect the costs of meat and poultry throughout the United Kingdom. Many of the best restaurants and hotels buy their meat at Smithfield and the site is famed for the quality of the produce available.
Hatton Gardens
Since 1870 Hatton Gardens has become internationally recognised as the premier location for Jewellery in London. The name Hatton Gardens was taken from Sir Christopher Hatton, born in 1540 and a favourite of Queen Elizabeth I. The Queen gave Hatton the land and Ely Place. The name of the area became known as Hatton Gardens. Situated at 100 Hatton Garden is the London Diamond Centre- this is where the diamonds for the Hatton Gardens jewellers are fingerprinted.

The British Museum
You can also visit the British Museum, which is on Great Russell Street and has a collection of art and antiquities from ancient and living cultures.Housed in one of Britain's architectural landmarks, the collection is one of the finest in existence, spanning two million years of human history. Access to the collection is free and the museum is open daily from 10:00 - 17:30.
